With the support of the Irish Centre for Business Excellence, the HRM and Employment Relations Subject Area at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is delighted to announce a HR practitioner workshop, "Power Up, Scale and Deliver: HR Process Excellence for Greater Efficiency," which takes place on Tuesday, June 10th (11:00am – 3:00pm).
Following on from last year’s hugely successful practitioner event on "The Adoption of Continuous Improvement in HR Transformation at LinkedIn,” this cutting-edge event will bring together leading academic experts and senior HR and business excellence practitioners to showcase the transformative power and potential of continuous improvement and process excellence tools within the human resource function.
According to one of the organisers, Dr Maria Belizon, “In today's dynamic business landscape, HR departments are increasingly challenged to deliver more with less, to deliver strategic value, and to be agile and continually adapt to evolving organisational needs.” Lean methodologies and tools are rarely talked about (let alone adopted) by HR practitioners, yet their adoption has the potential to elevate the strategic value and impact of the HR function.
This workshop is specifically designed to equip HR, change management and transformation and process excellence professionals with practical tools, actionable insights, and real-world examples of how to leverage lean and process excellence methodologies to optimise their operations and drive significant impact. Attendees will gain valuable perspectives on the impact of continuous improvement on the business and the HR function, and the strategic importance of process excellence and how it can contribute to overall business success.
A highlight of the day will be a showcase and practical workshop of the tools and methodologies that HR professionals can implement to enhance efficiency within their own organisations. This session promises to provide concrete takeaways and actionable strategies for driving tangible improvements in HR processes.
This workshop will be led by Hermann Mullers, Director of HR Process Excellence, and colleagues, Rachel Wootton (Senior Manager for HR Operations) and Giovanni Travierso Cuevas (Senior HR Process Excellence Specialist), both from LinkedIn.
According to workshop co-organiser, Dr Linda Dowling-Hetherington, “The interactive nature of this workshop and the insights provided by leading experts will provide attendees with a valuable opportunity to reflect on processes within their own organisation and consider how best to apply continuous improvement and process excellence tools to enhance efficiency.”
The day will conclude with a panel discussion that brings together a diverse group of senior HR leaders and business excellence professionals from LinkedIn, Johnson & Johnson MedTech and Tirlán. This discussion will offer perspectives on the practical application of lean and process excellence in various organisational contexts. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges and enablers associated with adopting these methodologies within the context of HR.
Overall, this practitioner workshop, according to Hermann Mullers, “Offers a unique opportunity for HR professionals at all levels to gain practical knowledge and insights into leveraging process excellence for greater efficiency and strategic impact. Attendees will leave with greater confidence and a deeper understanding of how to apply lean principles and process improvement tools within their own HR functions.”
